African Safari Airways

You would have through that the rich visual stimulus of the East African savanna would have inspired this airline to decorate its bags a little more that this miserable offering.

Thanks to Jan Tomášek. (2005)

Afriqiyah Airways

As yellow as the Grand Erg Oriental.

Gilles Beger says that the 9s on this bag refer to the creation of the African Union at a conference in Sirte, Libya, hosted by Muammar al-Qaddafi on 9 September 1999.

Thanks, Gilles (2005)

Afriqiyah Airways (orange)

The yellow blended in too well with Libya's great ergs (that's sand deserts to you non-Bedouin). Here's an orange version. Use it as a lifevest if you happen to land on water in the Sahara.

Thanks to Janusz Tichoniuk. (2006)

aigleazur01

Aigle Azur

Romantic-sounding name, conjures up images of eagles soaring above the azure Mediterranean.

But Aigle's navy blue logo is a bit too dark, and reflects the waves on a voilent, storm-tossed sea rather than the gentle ripples sun-seeking holidaymakers might prefer.

Thanks to Cédrick Gauthier-Lacognata (2007)
