Sterling (blue)

From visual surfeit (below) to bold-but-subtle. Unfortunately the designer of this bag didn't know that I scan my bags then rotate them 90 degrees to the left, so the opening is on the left side.

Thanks to Frank Mulliri. (2002)

Sterling (red)

Clearly an airline that cannot decide what colour it is.

Sterling (red 2)

Brighter red: Sterling still can't decide.

Thanks to Christian and Gerhard Lang. (2004)

The text has slipped closer towards the gusset.

Sterling (Stella)

A rare example of a photograph of a stewardess on a bag - even if she is wearing a wig.

According to bagdonor Eirik Erstad, her name is Stella. She is the brainchild of Sterling's marketing department. She's wearing a uniform from the 1950s, even though Sterling's aircrew have recently been reclothed in a slimmer grey kit.

Stella is making what could well be an obscene gesture over her left breast. Oh, sorry, it's a heart, and it's meant to show you how much Sterling would appreciate it if you were to join their frequent flier club and advertise on this bag.

Thanks to Eirik Erstad. (2006)

Fly Europe for less... and according to the logo, break someone's heart.
