Yes, it's STERLING STERLING STERLING STERLING STERLING STERLING STERLING STERLING STERLING STERLING STERLING STERLING STERLING STERLING (and so on, 46 times). Looks like the designer of this monstrosity ran out of ideas, and held down the Repeat key a bit too long. Unfortunately, the letters don't match up across the join at the side of the bag. So we get such stammerings as STERLERLING, STEFTERLING, STESTERLING, STERLINGLING, and so forth. Thanks to Norwegian collector Christian Kamhaug, who says he actually likes this bag. Maybe STESTERLING means something in Norwegian? (mid 1980s) |
