Sucker up to an airline, and you just might come out on top. Terry Irwin did: he entered the ditty below in Virgin's limerick competition, and won a bottle of champagne:

These days when all airlines are merging,
Our message is simple, we're urging,
For service that's handsome,
Think comfort, think Branson,
And cross the Atlantic with Virgin!
